Maria Bascom has been teaching English since 2019. She has worked with the Fulbright Program in English language and has taught both teenagers and adults. In addition, Maria has experience as an editor and translator. She has lived in Georgia for several years and speaks Georgian, Spanish, and Russian.
Maria graduated from the University of Iowa, and in her spare time, enjoys practicing jiu-jitsu. At Letterato, she co-leads the English-language program in critical thinking and literature alongside Corey Hawk.
Corey Hawk is a journalist by profession and the recipient of the 2018 Arizona Press Club Award. From 2013 to 2015, he worked on youth volunteer programs in Pittsburgh. Since 2019, Corey has been teaching English to both teenagers and adults and is a certified English teacher.
Corey holds a BA from Arizona State University. At Letterato, Corey co-leads the English-language program in critical thinking and literature with Maria Bascom.
